Here is a list of the features that is requested to be a part of the new WBFS specifications.
- Coded in C++
- Support Wii Backup format (shrinked files)
- Support other filetype, not just Wii backup

Please fix the file system 500 game (file) limitation.
Especially if, for what ever reason, you decide to support other file types.
Even apple supported 1400 files (or something like that ) with MFS even
when all that existed were 400k floppies.
The 500 file limit is by far the largest WBFS deficiency.
I truly don't care if it ever supports other formats other than it would be
somewhat nice to add a resource fork for cover art. Well... and GameCube
I viewed the code at length. It is wonderful that someone took the time to
develop WBFS - it would be an improvement, especially if more than one
person is going to work on it, to make better use of comments and make
it more intuitive overall. This is in no way meant as a negative comment to
the original developers. It was truly great and significant work.
